Before CHĀNJE picked up the mic for God, life was heading in one direction... and it wasn’t good. With fame, money, and the secular hip hop scene pulling him further into a destructive path, he faced a stark reality: if he didn’t change, it would only lead to death. But in that moment of clarity, everything shifted. CHĀNJE chose a new path. Read ahead to hear our full conversation with CHĀNJE about his journey, his music, and his mission.

You transitioned from a secular MC career to pursuing God through music. What led to that turning point?
CHĀNJE: I had an encounter with God like no other. I knew if I continued down the destructive path I was on, it would only lead to death. I had no choice but to die to myself, let go of my old life, and pick up my cross which ultimately led me to Christian hip hop.
How has that decision transformed your artistry and your purpose?
CHĀNJE: I came to realise that nothing good can come from living outside the will of God. No amount of money, fame, riches, or wealth can compare to His plan and purpose for my life. Everything I do now is to honour Him. My life and testimony are an act of worship. As Jeremiah 29:11 says, He has plans to prosper me, not harm me, plans to give me hope and a future. I made a vow to use the gift of music He gave me to bring Him glory and to advance His Kingdom.
You mentioned you’re currently in a season of intentionally pursuing God. What does that look like for you right now?
CHĀNJE: For me, it starts with seeking God first before I take my first breath each day, throughout my day, and before I close my eyes at night. The Bible says in Matthew 6:33, “Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” So I’ve been intentionally reading the Word, not just out of routine, but out of a genuine desire to draw closer to Him. I want to know God personally. Just like David, I want to be a man after God’s own heart.

You’re aiming to release a whole lot of singles in 2026. What’s driving that vision and how are you preparing?
CHĀNJE: The world is broken and in desperate need of a Saviour. My prayer is that my music can be a light, a pathway pointing people to Jesus. That’s what drives me to create and release more music.
What’s your creative process like? Do you produce your own music, and who’s part of your creative team that you’d love to shout out (photographers, editors, stylists, etc.)?
CHĀNJE: I’ve been blessed with a brotherhood of believers I can lean on creatively. I usually bounce ideas with them - Freaktaste (producer/mix engineer), Wyes (producer/artist/mix engineer), youvsraven (artist/producer), and Tinaye (artist/producer). My creative process always starts with sitting with the Holy Spirit in my writing sessions, letting Him inspire, narrate, and guide the music. When I’m aligned with Him, the words flow so much easier.

Tell us the story behind your brand Sick Of Sin. How did it start and what’s its mission today?
CHĀNJE: Sick Of Sin is a faith-based community committed to breaking the cycle of sin, leading people to repentance, and helping them trade their old life for a new one in Christ. God gave me the idea to start the brand during COVID, which made it difficult to launch, but God always makes a way. Today, our mission is still the same, pointing people to Jesus. We’ve got some big things planned for next year that I’m excited to share with the world.
You recently opened for CalledOut Music here in Sydney! What was that experience like for you? And what would you say to an up and coming artist trying to land gigs like that?
CHĀNJE: It was an incredible experience surreal, really. To see believers from different churches and denominations gather outside the four walls of a building and encounter the tangible presence of God was unforgettable. To upcoming artists, I’d say keep making Spirit-filled music, stay aligned with the things above, and trust that when the time is right, the doors of opportunity will open.
You and your wife just welcomed twins! Congratulations:) How has fatherhood impacted your perspective on God and your relationship with music?
CHĀNJE: Thank you! Fatherhood has been amazing. My wife and I prayed for twin girls, and God blessed us with exactly that. The pregnancy was labelled high-risk, but against all odds, we delivered two healthy girls. Through the process, God taught me to trust in His timing, because everything is perfected in it. He’s always in control but only if we allow Him to be.
