In a world where authenticity is becoming increasingly rare, Noah Moon’s music is a refreshing reminder of the power of personal conviction and faith. His latest album, To be a MAVERICK, offers a raw and powerful exploration of his journey, seamlessly blending his testimony and musical evolution. Recently, we had the privilege of speaking with our Artist of the Month for January, Noah Moon about his artistry, faith, and what drives him as both an artist and a person.

For Noah, faith is the foundation of everything he does, both in his personal life and through his music. Raised in a home where faith was instilled from a young age, he recognizes its profound influence on his artistic vision.

“Faith is something that is bound to influence the art we create, no matter our spiritual background...”

“...Even if we don’t claim a faith, we can’t escape the subconscious need for one. My faith, my beliefs, and my search for meaning make up the core foundation of everything I do.” These guiding principles form the heart of his music, and serve as an honest expression of his worldview and spiritual journey.

When asked about the meaning behind his album's title, To be a MAVERICK, Noah further defined what he felt was the deeper message behind the word “maverick.” For him, being a maverick isn’t about being born into a special role—it's a conscious decision to disrupt the status quo.

“A maverick is a culture disruptor. A maverick goes against the grain, but being a maverick is a choice. We must actively choose to be anti-culture.”

This mindset of defying expectations and challenging norms is central to the album. Noah emphasizes that anyone—regardless of background, status, or circumstances—can claim their identity as a maverick, rejecting a life of conformity in favor of authenticity.

This spirit of disruption is also reflected in Noah’s captivating vocal style and overall sound, which he describes as a blend of all the people and experiences that have influenced him. “My vocal style is the sum of all my influences,” he says. He names several figures who have inspired his music, including his parents, his close friends, the artists of his generation (the Kendrick Lamar’s and the Kanye West’s), his who are hurting, and the sea of voices who are desperately crying out to be heard. It’s clear that Noah’s music is not just an individual expression, but a collective voice shaped by the people and moments that have touched him most deeply.

While his music may come from a deeply personal place, Noah’s intention is always to connect with others—especially those who feel voiceless or misunderstood. “I make music with the intention of being a voice for the voiceless and a safe haven for the misunderstood,” he says. This mission to uplift those who may feel isolated or marginalized is a consistent theme in his work. His music is a powerful tool to inspire change, and Noah hopes his songs encourage others to take action.

Noah’s journey is not one he walks alone. He credits much of his drive and inspiration to his father, who has had a profound impact on his life and career. His father’s dedication to his faith and steadfast character shaped Noah in ways that words can’t fully capture. “I have no journey without him,” Noah reflects. For Noah, his father is the ultimate example of what it means to be a leader and a father—a role model whose influence will always guide his own path.

“Everything I have in this life stems from him simply making the choice to follow his convictions, stay steadfast in his character, and give it all to God.”

As Noah continues to grow as an artist, he offers advice to others who might be considering using their platforms to share their faith. In a world often distracted by noise and confusion, he encourages others to stay grounded in their purpose. “Know your why and hold onto it like your life depends on it... because it does,” he says.

Looking ahead, Noah admits that he’s uncertain about what the future holds. “In all honesty, I have no idea what is on the horizon...” he confesses.

“But I strive toward being a voice for the voiceless and will continue putting out art that I believe has the potential to inspire the mavericks.”

There’s a certain openness in his approach, a willingness to embrace the unknown while remaining committed to his mission. His passion for creating music that speaks to the heart and inspires action is unwavering, and no matter what comes next, it’s clear that Noah will continue to challenge the norms and push the boundaries of his artistry. As he continues to evolve, Noah’s journey is one worth watching—and listening to—because with every song, he reminds us that the greatest art comes from living truthfully and boldly.
